Galloway Conversations: Bruce, Balliol & the Wars of Independence in South West Scotland

The origins of the Bruce / Balliol conflict may have origins in the family feuds of the Lords of Galloway, being fully played out during the Scottish Wars of Independence between 1286 and 1356.  As central Galloway tended towards the Balliol camp, and was central to many of the events of the time, perhaps the title of a ‘Scottish Civil War’ would be more appropriate? Come along to hear all about these interesting historical times.

This event was made possible with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to The National Lottery Players.

CatStrand, New Galloway. Sunday 25 January 2:30pm (admission charge).
