Located on the east bank of the River Cree, in terms of historic counties, this site lies fractionally within Kirkcudbrighshire, in the village of Minnigaff – while immediately across the river the town of Newton Stewart is Wigtownshire. There is also specific history to the caravan park in having been a Prisoner of War camp during World War Two. Today it offers pitches for caravans, motor homes, and tents, plus options to rent lodges and park homes. A good base from where to explore the Rhins of Galloway, the Machars of Wigtownshire, Glentrool, and the Galloway Forest Park.
